Summer Employment
Summer is a busy time for University Housing with camps and conferences staying in our residence halls. University Housing is looking for proactive, energetic student leaders willing to foster community, represent the campus well, and ensure that our many guests have a great experience while at Appalachian State University. Below are our summer employment opportunities:

Event Experience Resource Staff ('EERS) - Customer Service
'EERS provide customer service and assistance to individuals and groups participating in summer camps and conferences hosted at Appalachian. As a member of the summer staff, 'EERS are responsible for a variety of administrative and customer service functions including participating in the check-in and check-out of conference guests, conducting room checks for damages, completing appropriate paperwork, inventorying room keys, serving on call for individual buildings that are occupied by camps, and responding to guest needs. Applications for this position are typically available in mid-February. Interviews occur in March with an orientation for selected staff in May.
Primary Event Experience Resource Staff (PEERS)
PEERS are typically graduate level student staff who manage summer conference operations for University Housing under the direction of the Assistant Director for Communication and Conferences. PEERS supervise 15-20 undergraduate HCAs and 'EERS, attend meetings with CES, organize prep/de-prep and check-in/out processes for each assigned conference, serve on call for campus, and work to meet the needs of both staff and guests.
Event Experience Resource Staff ('EERS) - Operations
Head Conference Assistants are returning CAs, RAs, or other Housing staff who provide leadership to a team of CAs in conjunction with their supervisor. As a member of the summer conference staff, HCAs are responsible for a variety of administrative and customer service functions including scheduling staff, serving on call for campus, coordinating the check-in and check-out of conference guests, conducting room checks for damages, completing appropriate paperwork, inventorying room keys, and responding to guest needs. Applications for this position are typically available in mid-February. Interviews occur in March with an orientation for selected staff in May.
