National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH)

The Mission of NRHH

NRHH is a leadership-based honorary comprised of exemplary residential students who value service, recognition, scholarship, and leadership. The mission of NRHH shall be to provide recognition for those individuals at Appalachian State University and the surrounding communities who have exhibited outstanding leadership, scholastics, and/or service. Furthermore, NRHH organizes events that aim to exemplify the values of a leader while uplifting communities in need.

What Is NRHH?

NRHH is the only nationwide organization that exclusively recognizes leaders in the residence halls; it is also considered the recognition branch of the National Association of College & University Residence Halls, Inc. (NACURH). Through "Of the Month" awards, known best as OTMs, NRHH provides local, regional, and national recognition to students making outstanding contributions on Appalachian's campus and within the residence halls. Appalachian's NRHH chapter firmly believes in the value of student involvement in residence hall life through community service, community building, advocacy, and educational programming.

What Does NRHH Do?

Every month, each member of our chapter is required to submit at least one Of The Month for any person, event, or organization that they feel needs recognition for having some sort of positive impact within their community. We do this because NRHH has four values, Recognition, Service, Scholarship, and Leadership, however, the best part of OTM's is that anyone can write them! There is so much recognition that can go around within our Boone community and with all of the amazing selfless leaders, it is impossible to recognize everyone who does good. This is where you come in! The feeling of being recognized for selfless service when you aren't expecting it is truly beautiful and we want to give this feeling to as many people as we can. Submit an OTM here!

NRHH also provides community service opportunities for its members and executive board.
