National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH)
The Mission of NRHH
The mission of the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) shall be to provide recognition for those students who have exhibited outstanding leadership and service to the residence hall system of Appalachian State University and to promote activities that encourage and develop leadership qualities as well as community service in residence hall students.
What Is NRHH?
NRHH is the only nationwide organization that exclusively recognizes leaders in the residence halls; it is also considered the recognition branch of the National Association of College & University Residence Halls, Inc. (NACURH). Through "Of the Month" awards, known best as OTMs, NRHH provides local, regional, and national recognition to students making outstanding contributions on Appalachian's campus and within the residence halls. Appalachian's NRHH chapter firmly believes in the value of student involvement in residence hall life through community service, community building, advocacy, and educational programming.
What Does NRHH Do?
NRHH recognizes student leaders with membership to their organization as well as "Of the Month" awards and "Random Acts of Recognition" written by staff and students across campus. NRHH also provides community service opportunities for its members and executive board.
Involvement Opportunities
Students must be nominated and chosen to become a formal member of NRHH. Those interested in volunteering with NRHH members may contact either the NRHH President using the Appalachian NRHH chapter website link below or the Student Leadership Development Coordinator via telephone at (828) 262-8692.
