Why leadership is Important to University Housing

Student leadership is a chance for our students to show their interest on a broad scale with campus-wide events and advocate for their needs. Student involvement assists University Housing with our mission of student support because the students are given a method of communication and support to gain community and speak their mind.

Benefits of Student Leadership

Students gain a sense of fulfillment from their community when they engage in student leadership and have opportunities to connect with peers in their neighborhood and across campus. Holding a formal leadership role, such as a Neighborhood President or an RHA Executive Board member, allows students to develop their leadership skills and gain valuable self-awareness. Additionally, student leaders gain professional experience in various areas through their involvement with University Housing and the Residence Hall Association.
