Employment Opportunities and Timelines
There are several different types of employment opportunities available to those wishing to join University Housing or Appalachian State University in some capacity, whether as a student employee or a full-time staff member.
Hiring Timelines
- Conference Assistant: Spring Semester
- Desk Assistant: Fall Semester
- Graduate Assistant: Late Fall & Early Spring
- Resident Assistant (Spring Semester): Early Fall (upper-class students only)
- Resident Assistant (Next Academic Year): Mid to Late Fall
Undergraduate
During the Fall and Spring semesters, undergraduate students have employment opportunities as Desk Assistants or Resident Assistants (RAs).
Graduate
Employment opportunities are available to graduate students in the positions of Graduate Assistant for Student Leadership or Resident Director (RD).
Summer
Join University Housing this summer to support camps and conferences and create a welcoming experience for guests on campus.
