Lockouts
Residents who lock themselves out of their rooms may contact the RA on duty. Resident Assistant (RA) staff are available from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. on weekdays and 24/7 on Saturdays and Sundays.
Residents may also visit the West Service Desk during regular operating hours to check out a temporary key (an AppCard mobile credential is required).
Temporary keys must be returned by 8:00 a.m. the next business day. Failure to return a key will result in a lock change and a charge of $75 charge to the student's account.
Inclement Weather Policy
If the university closes due to inclement weather concerns, the West Service Desk will also close. Residents who are locked out should contact the RA on duty for their building.
If classes are canceled but the university remains open, the West Service Desk will continue operating whenever possible. If conditions prevent student employees from safely reporting for work, the desk will close.
Questions may be directed to University Housing at 828-262-2160.
