Residence Hall Leadership
Why leadership is important to University Housing:
Student leadership is a chance for our students to show their interest on a broad scale with campus-wide events and advocate for their needs. Student involvement assists University Housing with our mission of student support because the students are given a method of communication and support to gain community and speak their mind.
What students gain from being involved in leadership activities on campus:
Students gain a sense of fulfillment from their community when they are involved with student leadership and are given the formal means to get to know others in their halls and across campus. Holding a formal position within student leadership such as Hall Council President or Residence Hall Association Secretary allows students a chance to practice their leadership skills and learn a great deal about themselves. Student leaders also gain professional experience in many areas through being involved with University Housing and the Residence Hall Association.
