Single Stream Recycling
University Housing now uses a "single stream" system for recycling! All recyclable items may be placed in the same bin, while all non-recyclable materials may be placed in bins marked "Landfill". Residents no longer have to sort their recyclable items into separate bins.
Examples of Items Accepted for Single Stream Recycling
- Plastic containers (#1-7)
- Yogurt containers
- Sushi containers
- Drink lids and straws
- Plastic cutlery
- Aluminum cans
- Glass containers (all colors)
Examples of Landfill Items Not Accepted for Single Stream Recycling
- Corrugated cardboard
- Compostable containers
- Pizza boxes
