Fall Move-In Volunteers

Move-In Weekend is Friday and Saturday, August 18th and 19th, 2017. Freshman/Transfer students may move in on Friday, August 18th and upperclassmen may move in on Saturday, August 19th. Volunteers are needed to assist students by moving them into their residence hall, answering questions, providing directions and a variety of other customer service functions to demonstrate the "Appalachian Way." Please note that volunteering for this opportunity requires lifting of boxes and other items that a student may move into their room.

Online sign-up is currently open!  Please use the link below to sign up for a shift today! You will be notified in early August of your assigned volunteer shift.

If you are a parent and have questions concerning parent sign-up for Move-In please visit the Parent & Family Services website for more information. University Housing does not handle parent volunteer registration.

Clubs/Organizations with 15 or more volunteers will have their name placed on the move-in shirts!  Priority sign-up deadline for all clubs/organizations to have their name on the move-in shirts is June 10, 2017.

Friday, August 18:
  • East Campus volunteers will check in at the tent near the East Residence Hall parking lot.
  • West Campus volunteers will check in at the tent at Duck Pond Field.

Volunteer times for Friday, August 18th are: 8:15am-10:30am, 10:15am-12:30pm, 12:15pm-2:30pm, 2:15pm-4:30pm.

Saturday, August 19:
  • Your assignment notification will provide a check-in location.

Volunteer times for Saturday, August 19th are: 8:45am-11:00am, 10:45am-1:00pm, 12:45pm-3:00pm, 2:45pm-5:00pm.
