The Department of Housing & Residence Life is committed to meeting the needs of all students to the best of its ability.

Special Needs housing requests will be reviewed individually with a committment to providing housing that best meets the need of the student.  The Department of Housing & Residence Life takes these concerns very seriously and confidentiality will be maintained.

*Housing for special needs may be limited due to space availability.

DISABILITY:

• Students requesting housing accommodations due to a disability must contact the Office of Disability Services, who will then work with the Department of Housing & Residence Life to determine whether or not special housing is warranted.

MEDICAL NEED:

• Individuals with medical concerns should send documentation from their physician to the Department of Housing & Residence Life.  This information may be faxed to (828)262-2945 or mailed to the following address:

TRANSGENDER HOUSING:

• Individuals who are transgendered and wish to apply for special needs housing may put their request in writing to the following address:
