What Should I Bring With Me?
Below are just a few suggestions that you may consider bringing with you when you move in:
Bedroom Items:
- Sheets (wait until you receive your room assignment to know which size is appropriate)
- Mattress pad
- Pillows, blankets, comforter
Small Appliances:
- Microwave oven (one microwave is permitted per room; must not exceed 1200 watts or 10 amps. Rooms equipped with MicroFridges® may not have additional microwaves, and additional microwaves are not permitted in Appalachian Heights due to the presence of a full kitchen in each apartment)
- Small refrigerator (one small refrigerator is permitted per room; must not exceed 1200 watts or 10 amps. Room Decoration:
- Carpet or rug (rooms in APH, App Heights, Mountaineer, Doughton, Gardner, LLC, Lovill, Newland, and White are already carpeted)
- Posters, poster putty, painter's tape
- Pictures of friends and family
- Dry-erase board and markers
- Storage containers
- One UL-approved power strip (maximum of 6 sockets)
- Book shelf
- Alarm clock, radio, iPod, CD player, headphones, digital cable-ready TV
- Free-standing fan
Personal Items:
- Flip-flops (for the shower)
- Umbrella and rain coat
- Boots
- Towels, washcloths
- Toiletries
- Bicycle with U-lock
